Our mission is to improve the economic well-being of the Memphis region by developing successful entrepreneurs through education, advocacy and business development.
Our vision is to become the leading advocate for minority businesses and entrepreneurs in the Memphis region and the Global community.
ADVOCACY – Our goal is to operate in your best interest and we cannot achieve that goal without understanding your challenges. We maintain strong relationships with our city, county, and state legislators as well as local business leaders. We leverage those relationships for your benefit and serve as a voice for the concerns of our members and the minority business community.
EDUCATION – We value knowledge, education and training for the advancement of your business. The BBA is an excellent resource for access to the tools you will need to be more efficient.
NETWORKING – We offer opportunities for our clients to know who’s who in Memphis as well as in their field of business. Our members are always in the know when it comes to mixers, seminars and other events that are important to advancing their business.
The Black Business Association of Memphis (BBA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation founded in 1974. The BBA is supported by the City of Memphis Department of Housing and Community Development. We seek to be “Point A” for minority business in the city of Memphis. Personalized services, support and one-on-one counseling are available to BBA members. We serve as a resource to the entire community, providing skills, services and networking opportunities to any small business regardless of race or sex.
