AboutThe “Unleashing The Power of Women” Retreat is a gathering of women interested in elevating their careers or businesses to the next level. Thought leaders share with attendees their secrets to success on the corporate and entrepreneurial journey. The attendees will receive mentoring, executive training, individual coaching and networking to help equip them on their journey to executive leadership in Corporate America or in their own businesses. The Retreat will offer two tracks: Corporate and Startup Business. It is open to women that are serious about taking their career or business to the next level. Emerging leaders will have the opportunity to network with Mentors and Power Brokers that are committed to helping enable women to succeed in leadership. The tenured professional will also have the opportunity to refresh and open up to new possibilities. There will be a Real Talk session on women leaders trying to do it all...marriage, children, CEO, etc. Is it possible? If so, how is it done with grace, style and excellence? Be ready for authentic conversations about how to succeed in the face of a myriad obstacles! Participants will spend three days with leaders that are game changers in their own rite. Following is the tentative itinerary: August 7, 2018 Retreat Registration: 10AM - Noon Beachside Networking and Cookout (South Beach): Noon - 5PM Back Door Donuts: 9PM August 8, 2018 Retreat Registration: 9:30AM Creating Your Seat at The Table Forum: 10:30AM - 5PM Menemsha Sunset: 6:30PM August 9, 2018 Yoga at the Inkwell: 7:30AM Breakfast @Edgartown Diner (www.edgartowndinermv.com): 9AM COI @MVAAFF Film Viewing: ~2PM Beachside Stories (Authors share their stories): 7PM Optional Activities* MV Historical Island Tour - $25 Bowling - TBD Bike riding between Edgartown and Oak Bluffs (rent bike on island or bring your own) *All Access Pass includes all activities except optional activities Things to Know: Because Martha's Vineyard is an island, the first thing you need to figure out is how you are getting there...boat or plane. The ferry reservations from Woods Hole to Martha's Vineyard can be made at www.steamshipauthority.com if you plan to bring a car on island. If you are staying more than four days, we suggest bringing a car to tour the island. Make reservation in January when reservations for August open up. The spots fill up within the first week of opening. If you are renting a home for the week, the Official Realtor for event is Skip Dostal of www.mvyre.com. Please let him know you are with the Unleashing Conference. Any house you find on the web listed with a realtor, he can reserve for you. He has been working with us for five years and is a delight to work with. He also makes a donation to STRIVE for all rentals booked with him for the Retreat. Consider staying in Edgartown or Oak Bluffs For Bed & Breakfast, check out www.mvy.com for options. Book as soon as you know you are going. August is the busiest season on the island so space is limited. Fly into Boston (BOS) airport, then rent car or take bus to Woods Hole for the ferry. You can also fly into Martha's Vineyard (MVY). If you are not renting a car, you can take the Peter Pan bus (www.peterpanbus.com) from the airport to Woods Hole for the ferry. It is a 2-3 hour trip, but it goes very quick. Gives you time to unwind before you get to the island. Ferry Reservation is made at www.steamshipauthority.com Martha Vineyard African American Film Festival (www.mvaaff.com) ticket sales are open on the website.
